Much has happened since last journal entry. I got an illustration interview in clearing with a guy called Jeff (Geoff, not sure), waited about a week then rang up and found out they didn't give me a place not sure if they were even planning on telling me!
Oh well it was two days until the end of clearing so I jumped right back on the horse and rang up again to see if they had any places left on Graphic Design. They did! Phew last chance saloon. I got to work on my portfolio again to show I can do Graphics and Will helped me to make a small offline website which had digital work in that I did not have time to get printed.
So I waited another week or so and ended up ringing them again to find out how they were getting on with that. They asked if I could come in within the next half hour oh great. I said 'er no, I'm not prepared sorry' so we agreed I would come in the next day instead, during an open day for the uni.
Will was off home that day which was quite inconvenient as I needed his help with the coding of the website as I have never used Dreamweaver before! He wanted me to come with him and I wanted to go too but I had interview things to sort out So we worked by phone and msn to get it done. He lent me his Macbook to take to the interview with me to show them the stuff (I will be uploading everything from the website to DA )
So I went to Cat Hill and joined the open day, was told to sit at the back of the hall for the presentation to the visitors. I felt a bit awkward being in uni when my first year went so badly I just couldn't take another 2 years of whinging from everyone on my course and from the tutors about how we were never good enough for them...I decided it was fashion in general that was going to be like that and since I wanted to stay at Cat Hill because our house is around the corner from it, my only option was to pick another subject.
Anyway I was sat at the back of the hall and of course my recent cough showed me up (lol) I got festival flu from Reading and have been trying to shake it off since I came back. I ended up having to leave because of a coughing fit :hehe: a guy got me a cup of water though which was nice so I sat outside the hall until the presentation was over.
Then I got brought into the hall to be taken away by whoever was doing my Graphics interview....it was Jeff he looked at me kind of weirdly as I laughed nervously
For the next 2 and a half hours I was subjected to the open day festivities, a talk about the subject, a guided tour (all of which I was meant to have seen already) all the while I was crapping myself about what I said in my illustration interview and how it won't look good for me. At one point I was asked what I would do if I didn't get onto the course and I replied 'er, apply for something else and then change...? ....if that's possible...?' which I don't think went down well.
Anyway we came to actually getting interviewed and I said to Jeff 'Oh You've already interviewed me' and he says 'Have I? Oh I thought I recognised you, it was a few months ago wasn't it?' I replied 'It was last week...' haha I figured then that if he barely recognised my face then he would barely recognise what I said in the interview
So I got Lillian instead as Jeff said it wasn't fair that he should interview me twice yay
She was nice and chatty so I just kept talking throughout the whole thing, filling in gaps with interesting stuff, tried to sound optimistic and up for the course. She recognised Totoro from one of my project idea sheets on the website It went better than my Illustration interview I felt.

So I get back to the house and Herc had been a prick about the rug in the lounge and Rich was out at work all day so it was a bit depressing sitting in the house. So I rang up everyone who cared to let them know how my interview went and asked Will if I could come up to Alvechurch. It's only £12 return with my railcard and a 2 hr train journey away and the Beer Festival is on today, tomorrow and Sun so it's worth coming up I got the 8:30pm train from Marylebone and got there at half 10, picked up by Will and his dad.
So I get fed and watered when I get there and we all go to sleep.
I wake up to a phone call from Middlesex telling me I have a place on Graphics!! :yay:
So my life is sorted for another year And people are happy to have me stay here for a long weekend

I hope more things that have been stressful over the Summer are sorted out too soon. I want to stick with Graphics if I got rejected from Illustration twice, they know what they are looking for in a student; there's not much point in pretending to be good at something you're not.

More good news is that Pokemon Soul Silver and Heart Gold have leaked onto the Internet early (even though they are out tomorrow) so now I have some free time for a little bit I can play the new games to my heart's content I've been banging on about these games for months Silver and Gold were great games, such an improvement on the original Red and Blue, anyone who poopooed them don't know what they were missing
